The origins of the recipe can be traced back to the small town of Ste-Rose-du-Lac, Manitoba, when it was prescribed by a local doctor as a stomach tonic to aid with digestion. A delicious family recipe passed on for over 100 years!
Today, this lemonade syrup is made from scratch in Montréal using fresh lemons, oranges, and grapefruit.
You can use it in the classic way, lengthening with flat or sparkling water. Or use as a tart syrup in cocktails.
